Show TIMP COUNCIL SETS OCT. 12 AS SCOUT WEEK Educational Campaign to Be Conducted Vigorously Throughout District. The week beginning October 12 and ending October 18 has been set apart as Boy Scout week by the officials of-ficials of the Tinipimogos District council, according to Dr. F. S. Harris, Har-ris, president of the council. "The week beginning October 12 is to be devoted to the Boy Scout movement," President Harris said in the Herald office Saturday. "We want to do as much as we can to educate our people to the great importance im-portance of this splendid work. We want to draw every boy of scout age into the organization and to do what we can to keep those in who are in until they have passed through their dangerous period of life and we want the citizens of this district to assist in this work of saving the boys for efficient manhood." man-hood." The campaign of education will be launched through the newspapers news-papers before the week of October 12, according to the present plans. On the night of October 9, at 7:30 o'clock in the library of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university a meeting of all the scout workers of the entire district will be held at which the plans for Boy Scout Week and the program for 1925 will be worked out. This meeting will be the beginning be-ginning of the campaign for a bigger big-ger and more efficient scout movement move-ment in the district. Outside speakers speak-ers of prominence are expected to be present to warm the local workers work-ers up to the point where the campaign cam-paign for next year may be pushed over without difficulty. The meeting of October 9 will be followed by meetings in the various sections wherever they can be arranged ar-ranged on Sunday night, October 12. At these local meetings special speakers will be furnished to assist in launching the campaign in the various sections. On the morning of Monday, October Oc-tober 13, the intensive campaign for funds will be started. This campaign cam-paign is to be waged with vigor for one week only. Immediately after the close of the week the funds will be budgeted and the Boy Scout program pro-gram for 1925 will get under way in earnest. |
