Show nfyptial lans of Couple Are oAnnounced a. . Announcement is made this week of the engagement and approaching ap-proaching marriage of Miss Gladys Glad-ys Weight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Weight, and SSgt. Warren H. Martell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thome of Provo. The marriage is to take place in the Salt Lake temple. The bride-elect is a graduate of the local high school and seminary and also attended the B. Y. U. SSgt. Martell graduated from the Provo high school. He recently recent-ly returned to his home after being be-ing a prisoner of the German for thirteen months. He has served overseas in the Ary Air Corps 20 months. DINNERS HONOR SERVICE MAN AND WIFE Complimenting M M 1c Paul Finley and his wife, who were recently re-cently wed, a number of entertainments enter-tainments were given the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hansen entertained at dinner, as did Mr. and Mrs. Bert Groesbeck, Mrs. May J. Finley, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Perham. The newlyweds have ' gone to San Francisco, Calif., where he is to receive his reassignment. SHOWER HONORS RECENT BRIDE Mrs. Don C. Garner, the former Lula Fox, was honored with a bridal brid-al shower on Saturday evening, given at the hoe of her other, Mrs. John A. Fox. The guests were delightfully entertained en-tertained with a book review, "High Time," given by Mrs. Mae Huntington. Also, Lula and her sister, Annie, entertained with vocal numbers. At the close of the party, a delicious de-licious lunch was served to about fifty relatives and friends, who showered the guest of honor with many lovely gifts. AVE DELMA CLUB MEMBERS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Wilbur Allan as hostess to members of the Ave Delma club at a delightful evening's entertainment en-tertainment last Thursday at her home. Attending were eleven club members and to guests, Mrs. Otto Fry and Mrs. James Wardell. Prizes for the games of contract con-tract bridge were won by Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Johnson, Mrs. Wardell and Mrs. W. E. Johnson. |
