Show 4 Young Couple Wed In lovely Home tes SEMPRE MUSICAL CLUB ENTERTAINED Members of the Sempre Musical club, comprising piano students of Mrs. Arthur C. Boyer, were guests of Carol Jacobsen at her home on Wednesday evening. LaRue Stone conducted the roll call to which each student answered an-swered with an interesting incident inci-dent in the life of Franz Peter Schubert. Piano selections rendered on the program were, "To Spring," Grieg, by Beth Perry; "Sack Waltz," Metcalf, by Colleen Norton; "Nobody "No-body Knows the Trouble I've Seen," by Marilyn Metcalf; "Blue Butterflies," Dore, by Norma Jean Bills; "Curious Story," Heller, by Margery Sheppard; "Love's Oracle", Ora-cle", Carl Bohn, by Connie Warren; War-ren; "La Marche,'' Burgmiller, by Joyce Taylor. The life of Anton Rubinstein was given by Beth Perry who also gave some interesting remarks of the origin of the first piano and how music begin. Rubenstein's "Melody in F" was then rendered by Marynell Alleman; also his "Romance" which is always a favorite fav-orite with everyone, was rendered by Marjean Cook. Marilyn Groes-beck Groes-beck played all three movements of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." Sona-ta." During the evening, new club officers were elected as follows: President, LaRue Stone; vice-president, Carol Jacobsen; secretary, Dan Bartholoew. Refreshments were served at the conclusion, with Joyce Taylor and Marilyn Mtecalf assisting the hostess. Mrs. Nell Alleman, Mrs. Arthur Taylor and Mrs. Frank Metcalf were honored hon-ored as spceial guests. The next meeting of the club was announced for Aug. 1st, at the home of Connie Warren. TiTTnd Mrs. Oscar M. Boyer announce an-nounce the marriage of their , ,rhter Genevieve, to Lee J. Ol-jjn'son Ol-jjn'son of Mrs. C. F. Olsen, also of this city. The marriage took place Tues-day Tues-day evening at the home of the bride's parents with Bishop Howard How-ard Maycock of the First ward, .performing the ceremony in the oresence of immediate family . Ambers and close friends. The bride wore a lovely white satin gown and her veil was finger fing-er tip length, caught to her head ith a tierra of seed pearls. Her bouquet was of pink rosebuds tied 9ith white satin ribbon. jliss Lois Hansen was maid of honor and other friends, Miss Shirley Shir-ley Berrett, Miss Beth Stebbins, jtiss Loraine Thorn and Miss Ve-!oy Ve-!oy Singleton of Provo, were her bridesmaids. They were attired In pastel-colored formals with rose corsages. Immediately after the ceremony, those assembled were guests at an informal reception, featuring a nicely arranged program. Miss Veloy Singleton entertained entertain-ed with vocal numbers, accompanied accompa-nied by Henry Maiben and Glenn Law, and Miss Singleton and Louis Lou-is Maiben gave vocal duets, accom- . panied by Henry Maiben. Mrs. Boyer gave an original poem and Glenn Law entertained with piano selections. Concluding the evening, tasty refreshments were served. Both young people are graduates gradu-ates of the local high school and students at the B. Y. U. The bride Is a Sophomore, majoring in Home Economics, and the groom is a Junior, majoring in Business, and is affiliated with the Alpha Kappa Psi social unit. They are making their home in Springville for the present. |
