Show Newlyweds Take Trip To California, Northwest Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Johnson of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Gwenevere Johnson, to Collins S. Delahunty, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Del ahunty of Salt Lake City. ' Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Stuart spent the week-end end Lahor Day holiday holi-day with relatives in Ogden, Morgan Mor-gan and Woodruff, bidding them goodbye (before leaving to make their home in California. Mr. and Mrs.Arthur Taylor and daughter. Joyce left last Friday for San Francisco, Calif., where they were called by the serious illness of Mr. Taylor's mother. The marriage took place on August 23, in the Salt Lake temple, tem-ple, with near relatives of the couple cou-ple witnessing the ceremony. After Af-ter their marriage, they were complimented with a wedding dinner din-ner given by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lester, uncle and aunt of the bride, at their home on 532 Second Ave., Salt Lake. Soon after their marriage, the couple left on a wedding trip to San Francisco, Calif., and the Northwest. The bride is a graduate of the she was affiliated with the Phi Brigham Young University, where Chi Thata, national business sorority sor-ority and the ' Alta Mitra, social unit. Mr. Delahunty was recently given his discharge from the army in which he served three years, part of the time in the European theater. They plan to make their home in Salt Lake City. Among pre-nuptial social events for Mrs. Delahunty was a miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower given by an aunt, Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, at her home here. The program included a reading by Miss Lois Hansen and Mrs. F. C. Packard and Nancy Salisbury entertained with musical numbers. Refreshments were served and the bride received many beautiful gifts. Several other lovely parties have been given for Mrs. Delahunty Delahun-ty by her friends in Salt Lake City. Sixty million citizens are expect-, ed to hit the road for vacations this year, in autos new or old. |
