Show "Newly weds Leave for Arizona After ' Salt Lake Temple Rites, Reception Friends and relatives honored the new Mr. and Mrs. Larry Peterson at a delightfully arranged wedding wed-ding reception in the Second-Eighth ward church S Thursday evening. They were married mar-ried Monday February 20, in the Salt Lake Temple and later members mem-bers of the wedding party were guests at a dinner at the home of the groom's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Sumner of Orem. Mrs. Peterson is the former Joan Oakley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Oakley and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Peterson of Provo. For her wedding, the bride' was attired in a beautiful imported lace over satin with full skirt and tight fitting bodice. Her veil was finger-tip falling from a close-fitting cap trimmed with seed-pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet consisting of a white orchid from which fell streamers of feathered carnations and satin ribbon. Attendants to the bride were Mrs. Arthella Johnson, a sister, as matron of honor; another sister, Mrs. Marlene Schow, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Peterson and Marilyn Miller, Janet Groesbeck, Kathleen Childs and Veda Reid, bridesmaids. They wore identical gowns of mint green and held nosegays centered cen-tered with a yellow rosebud. Mrs. Oakley was attired in acqua with pink camellia corsage and Mrs. Peterson in rose with white gardenia corsage. Others in the receiving line were the fathers of the bride and groom; also best man, Keith Peterson, brother of the groom; little flower girl, Sandra Fullmer and the train-bearers, train-bearers, Ranae Johnson and Stanley Stan-ley Sumner. Mrs. Ireta Sumner was at the guest register. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Weight and David Oakley, Lamon Johnson, assisted with the gifts. Mrs. Bonnie Fullmer, Betty Fritz, Jerry and Mary Lou Peterson Peter-son assisted with the gift arrang-ment arrang-ment and Madge Leyshon, Beulah Dalton, Oralynn Ash and Vivian Averett, helped in the kitchen. Newell Weight, uncle of the bride was master of ceremonies and announced the following program: pro-gram: Prayer, Leo A. Crandall; vocal duet, Arthella Johnson and Marlene Scow; dances, Marie Mar-tell Mar-tell and company of Santaquin; vocal vo-cal solo, Kay Weight, accompanied by Jane Harrison; accordian solo, Gerald Johnson; dance numbers, Kevin Sumner, Scherry Halliday, Karen Haliday, Karvil and Richard Allan of Provo. Mrs. Jessie Dalton gave a toast to the bride and Harold Har-old Carter to the groom. LaRue Kirk gave vocal solos. Benediction was by Wilford Weight of Salt Lake. Miss Jane Harrison rendered music throughout the reception and also played the wedding march. Serving was at small tables which held pastel colored sweet peas in an arrangement of orchid-colored orchid-colored cellepane as centerpieces. Serving were Linda Leyshon, Mary Lynn Blackett, Randa Weight, Colleen Col-leen and Marjorie Weight. A pretty all-white wedding cake with candles and flower arrangement arrange-ment on either side graced the dining room table. The couple left shortly after their reception for Tucson, Ariz., where the groom is stationed with the air force. |
