' , . i ; """ . , Mr. and Mrs. Allan S. Ferguson, nee Coleen Luke Marilyn Hanks, Joan Huntington, Barbara C. Hayes, Jean M. Loveless, Love-less, Betty Rae Larsen and Edith Dudley, bridesmaids. They wore dresses of their own creation of similar design pastel colors of dotted dot-ted nylon, and carried nosegay of baby orchids and carnations. The mothers both chose pink dresses, accented by orchid corsages. Best man duties were performed by Ivan Bland, brother-in-law to the groom. At the door guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Child and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Dudley. Guest book was presided over by Joyce Wilson. The line stood in front of tall candleabras and tall baskets of gladioli and carnations. Mrs. A. O. Stone was heard on the organ during dur-ing the reception. Bishop L. Dean Lee acted as MC for the program in which the following fol-lowing people took part: Clifton Carson, Penrod Glazier, Marilyn Hanks, Howell P. Newman, Royce Stone, Vonda Box, Gary Dudley, Lee Spafford, Blair Abbott, Charles Char-les Stout, Deanna Green, Virginia Keele, and Beatrice Davis. After the program the bridal couple led the dancing with the bridal waltz. A beautiful cake made and decorated dec-orated by Mrs. Randall Carson was the center of attraction on a lace covered table in the serving room. Hostesses in the serving room were Mrs. Arthur Banks and Mrs. Dean Hughes. Serving was done from small tables each centered with a vase of rosebuds and done by Donna Hunt, Carra Jean Dayton, Day-ton, Merlene Swasey, Barbara Christensen and Caren Carson. Gifts were arranged by Mrs. Dean Mattinson, Mrs. Earl Card, Mrs. Bessie Bramall, and Mrs. liable lia-ble Hopla, assisted by Sharon Ed-man, Ed-man, Sue Strozewski, Kay Dudley, and Lois Dudley. The elaborate trouseau was arranged by Mrs. Dean Mattinson and the bride and her mother. Mrs. Leland Hansen and Mrs. Arthur Sperry arranged the flowers. Springville Man Takes Bride from Salem; Making a Home in Provo Highlighting social events of the week was the wedding and reception of Coleen Luke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Avon Luke of Salem and Allen Strong Ferguson, .son of Mrs. Maud Fer- guson of Springville. The couple were united in marriage Thursday June 23 in the Salt Lake Temple with Pres. EIRay Christiansen officiating. of-ficiating. Accompanying them to the temple were parents of the bride, the groom's mother; also -. j) Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Dudley, Royce. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Don Dudley, and Mrs. Jennie Bergland. After the marriage a wedding breakfast honored the couple at Harmon Cafe in Salt Lake. The newlyweds were honored with a reception in the Salem The couple went to California and through the Redwoods on a honeymoon trip. The new Mrs. Ferguson is employed at Geneva Steel and Mi-. Ferguson operates a service station in Provo where they will make their home. A prenuptial personal shower was given at the home of Mrs. Ned Losser on the Friday evening before the marriage. About 12 guests spent an enjoyable time. Mrs. Ray Huntington as co-hostess helped serve a dainty plate luncheon. ward church Friday evening. The bride was radiant in a creation of French lace and net over satin with insets of plaited tulle, with long pleated sleeves and scalloped neck. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a heart shaped cap of lace and pearls. She held a bouquet bou-quet consisting of a large orchid, surrounded with baby orchids and stephonitis. Assisting in receiving guests were the bride's parents, the groom's mother, and 'members of the bridal party, including Mrs. Ned Losser as matron of honor |
