Show Oakley-Perry Wedding Announced for Late June ! Of special interest to friends here is the announcement of the engagement of Richard Oakley, son 0f Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oakley, and Miss Annabelle Perry of Almond, X. Y., the marriage to take place sometime this month. The betrothal of the young couple cou-ple was made known in Denver, Colo., where Mr. and Mrs. Oakley and daughter, Lucille, and son, Hal, met their son and brother, and' spent several days vacationing in the canyons of that vicinity. THE LUCKY THIMBLE 4-H CLUB HELD A meeting at the home of Mrs. Lula Jones and elected Nola Loveridge president; Glenna Baker, vice-president; Delia Mae Holmes, secretary-treasurer; Beverly Robbins, reporter; Trysa Loback, song' and cheer leader. Mrs. Vivian Averett is assistant leader. The next meeting of the group is scheduled for Tuesday, at the home of Beverly Robbins. COMPLIMENTING MISS LUCILLE SUMSION, a bride of the near future, several parties have been given the past week by relatives and friends ' On Wednesday evening, Miss Klell Case was hostess at a personal person-al shower at the home of Miss Sumsion. A program in which Miss Phyllis Smart gave violin numbers, LaVern Case gave readings, and Mrs. Helen Anderson a review of the book, "The Family," was enjoyed. en-joyed. The entertaining rooms were . AMONG THE PRETTILY ARRANGED SUMMER SOCLALS was the trousseau tea given by Miss Lucille Sumsion, bride-elect, at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Sumsion, Sunday afternoon. af-ternoon. Decorations for the affair were in silver and pink. The serving table was covered" with a lovely lace cloth and centered with pink roses. On either end were tall pink tapers in crystal holders. Refreshments, Refresh-ments, served under the direction of Miss Beverly Sumsion and Miss Louise Averett, suggested the same color scheme. The display rooms, in which were exhibited many lovely pieces of handwork, were in charge of Mrs. Lydia Sumsion and Mrs. Catherine Ca-therine Russell. Approximately one hundred guests, including relatives and friends from Springville and Pro-vo, Pro-vo, attended. A DELIGHTFULLY ARRANGED AND socially successful party of the week was that given by Mrs. Loya Nielson Lewis and Mrs. Margaret Bird Conover, at the home of the latter Friday evening, honoring Mrs. Mary Bird Huish, here from Oakland, Calif., and a number of other out-of-town guests, all of whom were former schoolmates. 'The entertaining rooms were pretty with a variety of summer flowers. From small tables a tasty luncheon was served early in the evening, and the group later en- beautuuny decorated wiui a profusion pro-fusion of summer flowers, and a tasty luncheon was served at the close of the party to about 25 guests. EIGHT COUPLES WENT TO THE CANYON Saturday night for supper and later enjoyed games and music around a large bonfire. Included in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frand-sen, Frand-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long, Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark. MRS. AXEL DANIELSON WAS GUEST OF HONOR at a birthday party given at her home on Friday evening. The guests enjoyed cards and social conversation, together with a delicious luncheon. Present were Mrs. Viola Beardall, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Palfreyman, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Beardall, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Beardall, Axel Danielson and sons, Gene and DeMar. A GROUP OF MISSIONARY FRIENDS WERE entertained at he home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cherrington Thursday evening at an informal get-together social. They came from Og-den, Og-den, Kaysville, Bountiful, Salt Lake City, and Marysvale, and were all former missionary associates asso-ciates of Mr. and Mrs. Cherrington. Cherring-ton. Kay Simpson of Kansas City, and Erma Moll of St. Louis, Mo., were special guests. The group enjoyed the evening with social conversation and the showing of colored films of missionary mis-sionary experiences. A tasty buffet buf-fet dinner was served by the host and hostess. MISS LUCILLE SUMSION, BRIDE-ELECT, was honor guest at a lovely party given by her mother, Mrs. Elvin Sumsion, and Mrs. Cleveland Brown of Provo, Friday night at the club room of the Memorial hall. Approximately 75 relatives and friends attended the party, which featured for entertainment a nicely nice-ly arranged program. Mrs. Ellen Anderson and Mrs. Floss Phillips gave a vocal duet; Mrs. Lela Packard, a vocal solo; Mrs. Ethel Lewis of Provo, a vocal solo; Miss Hannah Rowland, vocal solos; Mrs. Vivian Larsen of Provo, humorous hu-morous readings; Mrs. Louise Straw and Mrs. Erma Brailsford, a vocal duet; Mrs. Ellen Anderson, Ander-son, vocal solo. Mrs. Mary Witney and Mrs. Betty Sumsion were ac-companists. ac-companists. IN HONOR OF THE RETmiNG OFFICERS of the Y. M. M. I. A. stake board, an informal social in the form of a canyon party was held Saturday night at the M. I. A. summer camp home in Kelly's Grove, under the direction of the Y. W. M. I. A. stake board members. Early in the evening, the group enjoyed a dinner served at long tables and later retired to the cabin ca-bin where games and an impromptu im-promptu program were enjoyed. In attendance were approximately forty stake M. I. A. workers and guests. NOLA LOVERTDGE WAS SURPRISED with a party at her home in Mapleton Ma-pleton on Wednesday evening, with games and a tasty luncheon the enjoyable features of the affair. af-fair.
