' -j Mr. and Mrs. James Sumsion, nee Oneita Burnside Many Guests Attend Open House In Honor of Mr. and Mrs. James Sumsion One of the Iovliest receptions of the late autumn season was given in the form of an open house by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sumsion Saturday evening, to honor their son James and his new bride, the for-, : mer Miss Oneita Burnside. The young couple were wed in the Manti LDS temple last Friday, November 9, and the same evening parents of the bride, Mr: and Mrs. John C. Burnside, gave a formal for-mal reception in the North ward chapel at Fairview. Nearly 300 guests attended. On Saturday evening, the newly-weds newly-weds and their parents received more than 200 guests at the open house in Springville. The bride was beautiful in a gown of traditional white satin fashioned with lace and full skirt. A finger-tip veil fell from a crown of flowers and lace and she carried a bridal bouquet of yellow rose-buds and white gardenias. Her bouquet at the reception re-ception was of rose-buds centered with an orchid. Mrs. Sumsion chose a brown formal for the open-house with corsage of yellow roses and gardenias, gar-denias, while Mrs. Burnside wore a light copper-colored gown accented ac-cented by yellow rose and gardenia gar-denia corsage. The bride was unattended Saturday Sat-urday evening, while Richard M. Sumsion stood with his brother. Mrs. Richard M. Sumsion was in charge of the guest book. Also in attendance was the groom's grandmother, Mrs. Emma Coplan. She wore black with gardenia and rose corsage. A georgeous display of gifts was arranged in two rooms, under direction of Mrs. Hazel Roylance and Mrs. Donetta Anthon. They each had corsages of roses and carnations. ' Dainty refreshments, carrying out colors of orange and white, were served by Mrs. Lula Menden-hall Menden-hall and Mrs. Leonia Cameron who also had corsages of gardenias and tiny mums. Tiny white wedding slippers with orange and silver trim added color to the refreshments refresh-ments as did the beautiful 3-tired wedding cake, decorated with roses and topped with a miniature temple. Little Elaine Barton and Karen Roylance assisted with the gifts. The entertaining rooms were beautifully decorated with floral arrangements and candles burned on either side of the wedding cake. An exquisite dinner set and. Sterling silver, both brought by the groom on his return from an LDS -mission in Denmark, were among the lovely wedding gifts. The newlyweds are making their home at Art City Motel for the present, while Mr. Sumsion continues con-tinues his schooling at the Brigham Young University. |
