Gardner, nee Elaine Leyshon Newlyweds Making Home in S L C Following Temple Rites, Reception Now making their home in Salt Lake City are newly married Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Gardner. The popular young couple exchanged vows in the Salt Lake temple on September 24 and were sub- sequently honored with a reception in the Kolob Stake House. Formerly Miss Elaine Leyshon, the lovely bride is the daughter of Mrs. Madge Leyshon and the bridegroom's bride-groom's father is Reuben D. Gardner Gard-ner of Spanish Fork. At the recetpion the bride received re-ceived guests in an exquisite gown of traditional white satin with lace trim, styled entrain with close-fitted close-fitted bodice, long sleeves, tiny lace collar and small buttons from neck to waistline. Her finger-tip veil of nylon net was held to a beaded crown. Her bouquet was of gardenias and stephanotis. Miss Shirley Averett, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Evelyn Leyshon, sister, Chloe Gardner, Phyllis Stokes and Ruth Gardner were bridesmaids. They were attired in pastel colored for-mals for-mals and carried colonial nosegays. Junior attendants were little Linda Gessel in rose velveteen and Steve Gardner. Standing in the receiving line were Mrs. Leyshon, gowned in pale green with lace top accented by a rose corsage and her brother i Dean Hutchinson. With the groom I were his father and two brothers, Marvin and Paul Gardner. "Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison I were at the door to greet guests I as were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene I Gardner of Spanish Fork. Mrs. i Marvin Gardner attended the I guest book. j In the gift room were Mrs. i George Stone, Mrs. J. R. Norton, i Mrs. Bill Miller and Joy Fullmer. I Linda Leyshon, Linda Harrison, Shirlene Searle and Elaine Perry received the gifts. Presiding over the refreshments were Mrs. Virl Harrison, with Mrs ' Jackie Lott, Mrs. Nate .Crandall aCrol Ann Johnson, Joan Kelly, Joan Oakley, assisting. Supervising the kitchen activities activi-ties were Mrs. Clyde Gessell, Mrs. Wren Larsen, Mrs. Warren Parry, Mrs. Arthur Oakley, Mrs. Ed Averett Av-erett and Mrs. Wray Nelson. Decorations featured large baskets bas-kets of vari-colored fall flowers and bouquets tied with pastel-colored pastel-colored ribbon centered each serving serv-ing table. A beautiful three-tiered wedding cake with lattice work and flower trim centered a table ' covered with a linen cut-work cloth and nosegays of flowers. The program featured music by : Jane Harrison, Ann Johnson and j Betty Hoover, who played during J the reception. Clyde Gessell was MC for the program and announo-' announo-' ed a male quartet from Spanish " Fork accompanied by Jane Harri- son; vocal solos, Don Humphrey ' accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Bird a tribute to the bride by Mrs. Douglas Smoot; a vocal duet, Mar-' Mar-' lene Oakley and Glida Ann Boyer; invocation, Ray Gull; benediction, I Grant Thorn. Mr. Gardner is enrolled in the School of Pharmacy at the Uni-, Uni-, versity of Utah where he is affil-3 affil-3 iated with Phi Delta Chi. |
