V' ) Mr. and Mrs. Cleon (Cy) Nielson, nee Miss Carol Johnson Newlyweds to Live in Albuquerque; Honored at Pretty Church Reception The golden glow of autumn reigned supreme in decorations for the wedding reception Thursday even-inf even-inf honoring- newlvweds Mr. and Mrs. Cleon (Cv) n o, Nielson, who were married earlier in the evening. Lorin Nielson of Mapleton, uncle of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony in the presence of close relatives and friends of the couple at the Third-Ninth Third-Ninth ward church. The prayer before be-fore the rites was by the bride's uncle, Gil Johnson of Spanish Fork. ' The lovely bride, formerly Miss Carol Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Johnson, was radiantly beautiful in a candlelight candle-light satin wedding gown fashioned fashion-ed with lace yoke and paneled lace front with the folds falling into a chapel train. Her veil was-finger-tip length caught to a crown of orange blossoms and her bouquet was of talesman roses and stepha-notis stepha-notis with satin streamers. Mrs. Rena Lou Nielson was ma- Ti tron of honor appearing in a light beige gown, while Yolanda Davies, maid of honor, was attired in deep beige floor-length. Geri Cranmer, Helen Christensen, and Kathleen Childs were bridesmaids and little Mary Johnson, sister of the bride, junior bridesmaid. They wore sister sis-ter frocks in autumn gold taff etta . accented by colonial bouquets of gold and bronze chrysanthemums. Assisting with the receiving of guests also were parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Nielson of Spanish Fork and the bride's grandfather, A. P. Johnson of Spanish Fork. Best man duties were shared by the groom's brother Max Nielson and Kirk Davies. Mrs. Johnson chose to wear a shrimp-colored lace over taffetta for her daughter's wedding and Mrs. Nielson's gown was a dusty rose crepe. They pinned corsages of gardenias to their shoulders. At the door to greet guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson or Spanish Fork and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stewart with Mrs, Blaine Thorn caring for the guest book. Co-hostesses during the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Perry, Mrs. Mary Smart, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Averett and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whiting. Arranging: the gifts were Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, Mrs. Ernest Nielson, Niel-son, Mrs. Myron Childs, Mrs. -Ted Johnson, Mrs. Waldo Thompson and Mrs. Kay Johnson, assisted by Jane Perry, Patricia Thorn, Barbara Bar-bara Johnson, Karen and Lynn Johnson and Pat Stewart. Don Swenson and Dean Johnson were ushers. Presiding in the trousseau room were Mrs. Ralph Olsen and Mrs. Don Swenson. Serving- was at small tables by the Misses Evelyn Leyshon, Joan Oakley, Roslyn Hall, Marjorie Wis-combe, Wis-combe, Arva Despain, Gerry Thorpe, Marjene Hurst, Wanda Fullmer. Mrs. Grant Nielson and Mrs. Reese Anderson were table hostesses. Center of attraction in the serving- room was the beautiful 3-tier-ed white wedding- cake decorated in g-old and green flanked with tall white candles and centering- a table covered with white satin draped with g-olden-colored chrysanthemums. chrysanthe-mums. Elmo Braithwaite played organ music as the guests arrived and later a program was given with Blaine Thorn acting as master of ceremonies. Frances Clark gave vocal numbers; Mrs. Zara Tonks, piano selections, and Jimmie Anderson, An-derson, vocal numbers with guitar accompaniment. Mrs. Ethel Jensen of Mapleton gave a toast to the bride and groom. Prayers were by Don Swenson and Varn Howe. After a short honeymoon trip to the Mesa Verde National Park, the couple will go to Albuquerque, N. M., to make a home while Cleon continues in the service. |
