Show Freak accident takes life of Louis Clegg; services Friday Funeral services for Louis Clegg, 79, of 621 South Center, Mapleton, and who lost his life in a freak accident, August 26, 1969, at his home, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton Ma-pleton Ward Chapel. Bishop Collin Allen of the Mapleton First Ward will officiate. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday until 10:30. The Cleggs returned re-turned to live in Mapleton about ten years ago. Survivors include his wife of Mapleton, two sons and three daughters: Robert Louis, Salt Lake City; Max B., Murray; Mrs. Henry (Lenore) Coleman, Carson City, Nevada; Mrs. Louis (Pauline) Meadows, Far-mington, Far-mington, Utah; Mrs. Grant (Nancy Lu) Seely, Orem; 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; grand-children; one brother and three sisters: Elmo Clegg, Baker, Oregon; Mrs. Bess Neff, Grants Pass, Oregon; Mrs. Mary Lu Bunnell, San Francisco, California; Cal-ifornia; Mrs. Blanche Shack, Portland, Oregon. ator when the car started, causing the car to speed down the driveway, across the street and into a tree, investigating Highway Patrol Trooper William Wil-liam Duncan stated. Trooper Duncan said that Mr. Binks, who was sitting on the passenger pas-senger side when the car started, star-ted, tried unsuccessfully to steer the car away from the tree. Mr. Clegg was born November Novem-ber 12, 1889 in Springville, the son of William and Mary Ann Church Clegg. He married Cora Bird June 15, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The Cleggs were residents of Spanish Fork for a number of years. He served on the Spanish Span-ish Fork City Council for several sev-eral years. He was also a member mem-ber of the Spanish Fork gro-cerymen gro-cerymen committee. He served on various committees while a member of the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce always working for the benefit of the young people. He was an ardent ar-dent worker for the Republican Party on state, county and city levels. At the time of his death he was assistant county deputy assessor for Utah County. He was active in church and community all of his life holding hold-ing positions in the MIA, Boy Scouts, priesthood quorums, as ward Chorister and h9m? teacher. tea-cher. Always active in sports of all kinds, he served as a member of the Spanish Fork City Council Coun-cil in charge of recreation and was instrumental in securing the second lighted ball park in Utah.
