Show Mother of Local woman dies in California Mrs. Emma Jane Orgill Gordon, Gor-don, 85, of Long Beach, Calif., mother of Mrs. Fred (Beth) Alleman of this .city, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1967, in a Long Beach hospital of ailments ail-ments incident to age. She was born at Mills, Juab County and spent her early life in Heber, being educated in Wasatch County schools. She moved to Provo in 1919 and lived there until 1944, when they moved to Long Beach. Her husband, Henry Eli Gordon, died in 1917. She was employed at the Utah State Hospital 24 years as a ward attendant and assistant as-sistant matron. She was active in LDS Church work. She is survived by seven daughters, includ i n g besides Mrs. Alleman of Springville, Mrs. Russell (Bessie) Thorpe, Long Beach; also 65 grandchildren grandchil-dren and two great grandchildren grandchild-ren and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at Berg Mortuary Chapel in Provo with Bishop George Puckett of the Springville Seventh Ward officiating. of-ficiating. Friends may call at the mortuary mor-tuary from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight and Friday before the services. Burial will be in Heber City. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bird and and son of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Wy-oming, visited over the weekend week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russen Bird and with Mrs. Bird's parents in Spanish Fork as well as other relatives and friends. |
