Show Services Held at Mapleton for Former Resident Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the Mapleton church for Alpheus La Veil Curtis, 71, who died of a heart attack Saturday evening. Mr. Curtis was clearing snow in front of an apartment house at 171 So. 5th East, Salt Lake City, when stricken. A native of Springville, he was born here November 27, 1883, the son of Alpheus and Crystalbell Johnson Curtis. He was educated in Springville schools. On September Septem-ber 13, 1905, he married Areva Perry in the Salt Lake LDS temple. tem-ple. He was active in church and was a high priest at the time of his death. Prior to moving to Salt Lake City, he was a farmer for 20 years at Nephi. In Salt Lake, he was a custodian of an apartment house. Survivors include his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Laine (Beth) Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Salt Lake City; one granddaughter, grand-daughter, a sister, Mrs. Bell Thomas Thom-as of Springville. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery directed by A. Y. Wheeler Wheel-er and Son mortuary. |
