Show Ladies Literary Club Hears Music Program An evening of music arranged by Mrs. V. C. Mendenhall and Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion entertained mem. bers of the Ladies Literary club when they met at the home of Mrs. F. C. Packard last Thursday evening. eve-ning. Guest musicians for the evening were Ardean Watts and Jack G. Kemker, representing the Springville Spring-ville Institute of Music, and Jacob Bos, founder. Mr. Watts, whose home town is Idaho Falls, Idaho, played several classical numbers on the piano and accompanied Mrs. Kemker of Salt Lake City, who gave vocal selections. selec-tions. Mr. Bos entertained with Bassoon numbers, acompanied by Mr. Watts. Mrs. Kemker and Mr. Bos are both natives of Holland. It was an outstanding entertainment entertain-ment enjoyed by everyone present and comments and brief explanations explana-tions on the various numbers added interest to the program . Mrs. Eugene Johnson;' club president, pres-ident, was in charge of the meeting, meet-ing, which began with a nicely arranged lunch, served by the hostess. hos-tess. She had as her guests, Mrs. Mrs. Calvin Packard, Mrs. Ernest Boyer, Mrs. Max Sumsion and her daughter Glida Ann, also assisting in serving. Mr. Watt's parents and Mrs. Kemker's wife also attended the club meeting as guests. The club president reminded the members of the book reviewed by Helen Kimball Saturday evening and chairman Birdella Bearnson distributed tickets. The next meeting of the club was announced for Thursday, Mar. 13, to be at the home of Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen.' |
