Show Cadets, Middies Dedicated Men The young Americans who devote de-vote their full careers and lives to the defense of the freedoms which most of us take for granted surely are dedicated men, spiritually, spirit-ually, mentally and physically. Here is an excerpt from the prayer to God which the West Point cadets repeat daily in their chapel at the U. S. Military Academy: Acad-emy: "Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, and never to be content with a half truth when the whole can be won. Endow us with courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy, that scorns to compromise with vice and m-iustice m-iustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in jeopardy jeop-ardy ..." And here is a part of tne prayer repeated by the midshipmen m the U. S. Naval Academy at Annap- 0l"Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and in deed and helping help-ing me so to live that I can stand unashamed and unaft-aid before my shipmates, my loved ones, and Thee. Protect those in whose love Ihve Give me the will to do the work of a man and to accept my share of responsibilities with a strong heart and a cheerful mind. |
