Show MANY ATTEND FUNERAL FOR MRS. JOHNSON Harriet Amelia Thorn Johnson, 74, widow of the late Mont Johnson, of this city who died Friday morning morn-ing at the family residence follow-) ing a prolonged illness was laid at final rest Sunday afternoon. The services which were attended by many friends and relatives were held in the Fourth ward chapel under un-der the direction of Bishop Hilton Robertson. The invocation was offered by Seymour Mendenhall Jr.. and the benediction by Patriarch O. B. Huntington. The speakers both of whom eulogized the exemplary life of their repaited friend were President Presi-dent G. R. Maycock and J. F. Bring-hurst Bring-hurst of Kolob stake. Musical numbers were furnished by Miss Helen Palfreyman and Mrs. Inez Parker, who sang a duet; Miss Palfreyman sang a solo. They were accompanied by Miss Alberta Mendenhall Men-denhall at the piano; Elmo Coff-man Coff-man rendered a vocal solo, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs- Will Witney. Interment was in the city cemetery ceme-tery where the dedicatory prayer was offered by A. G. Thorn. Mrs. Johnson was born in Salt Lake November 23, 1855, the daughter daugh-ter of Richard and Harriet A. Glines Thorn. With her parents she came to Springville in 1856 and had made her home there since uriat time. She was an ideal , home-maker home-maker and had devoted her whole life to her family. She was the mother of eight children and1 has carea from infancy one grandson, Harold J. Whiting. The following children survive : ! Cheater Johnson, Richfield, Idaho: Mrs. T. C. Mead, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. T. J. Wilson, Eureka; Mrs. Maria Johnson, Pasadena, Calif. ; Mrs. Floyd Miner, Miss Zina Johnson John-son and Mrs. G. W. Sumsion, Springville, also 17 grandchildren, one great grandchild and two brothers, broth-ers, Abner Thorn and Erastus Thorn of Springville. |
