Show Funeral held here for Bert Whiting Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, in Kolob Stake House, for Albert, "Bert" Whiting, 82, a longtime long-time resident of Mapleton, who passed away Thursday of last week of a heart ailment. He was making his home with a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Quinn Whiting at Price. Bishop -Carlos Hjorth of the Mapleton Second Ward, was in charge of the services. Burial Bur-ial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Cem-etery, directed by the Wheeler Mortuary. He enters the mission home June 3. Reed Bennett, former bishop of the ward will speak as will Floyd Tuttle, former bishop and Bishop Carlos Hjorth. There will be remarks by the parents and a response by the missionary. Boyd Hales will give a .piano selection during the evening and other music will be by the congregation. Prelude and postlude music will be by Evelyn Ev-elyn Allan. The invocation will be by Terry Hjorth and the benediction bene-diction by John Patrick. Funeral held here for Bert Whiting ... (Continued from Page 1) bert Milton and Harriet Perry Whiting. He married Sadie Nielsen in 1909 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1960. Mr. Whiting followed farming farm-ing all his life. A member of the LDS Church, he served a mission in the Eastern States. He also served for six years as president pres-ident of the YMMIA in Mapleton. Ma-pleton. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Dr. Quinn A. Whiting, Price; Dr. Rex A. Whiting, Heber; Neil Whiting, Mapleton, and Mrs. Reese (Ruth) Anderson, Vernal; 14 grandchildren; three brothers and six sisters: J. M. Whiting of Los Angeles, Calif.; Oscar and Howard Whiting and Mrs. Joseph (Harriet) Jensen of Mapleton; Mrs. John (Ethel) Matsen and Mrs. Howard (Lorna) Tippetts of Lorenzo, Ida.; Mrs. Ralph (Fern) Wad-doups Wad-doups of Idaho, Falls; Mrs. Abe (Catherine) Strait of Columbia, Col-umbia, Utah; and Mrs. Susie Fuller of Salt Lake City. |
