L Whiting Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Mapleton Ward chapel, for Charles L. Whiting, 75, who died Monday morning at his home following several months illness. Mr. Whiting was born Janu- ary 21, 1886, in Mapleton, a ! son of Albert Milton and Harriet Har-riet Susanna Perry Whiting. He lived most of his life in Mapleton and on Jan. 25, 1911, married Olive Carlton in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated cele-brated their golden wedding anniversary an-niversary this year. Mr. Whiting worked as a blacksmith in Mapleton for 25 years and spent many years as a timber cutter in Utah and Idaho. His hobbies were hunting, hunt-ing, fishing and gardening. Surviving are his widow; 10 sons and daughters, Leonard C. Whiting of Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Wiscombe and Mrs. Arland (Wilma) Cloward, both of Mapleton; Mrs. Clifford E. (Beryl) Warren of Redwood Red-wood City, Calif.; Harley C. Whiting and Mrs. Raymond (Ardith) Jensen of Blackfoot, Ida.; Mrs. Donald (June) Blan-chard Blan-chard of Springville; Jesse O. Whiting of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Irel (Beulah) Barrus of Pittsburg, Calif., and Mrs. Lloyd C. (Carma) Andersen of Orem. Also surviving are 39 grandchildren; 13 great grand- j children and 11 brothers and sisters, Bert Whiting, Howard i Whiting, Oscar Whiting, and Mrs. Hattie Jensen, all of Ma- i pleton, Mrs. Ethel Matson and !
