Show MAPLETON WOMAN LAID TO FINAL REST Beautiful Funeral Services Held Sunday For Mrs. La-vina La-vina S. Bird In Mapleton Ward Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Lavina S. Bird, widow of the late Spieer V. Bird, who died at her home in Mapleton Friday, were held Sunday in the Mapleton amusement hall. Bishop It. L. Mendenhall of the Mapleton ward presided. The opening prayer was offered by L. E. Ilarnier and the closing prayer by C. W. Iloutz. Siwakers were Mrs. Hannah B. Mendenhall, stake Relief Society president, Irene B. Cook, stake secretary, each of these spoke by siiecial retpiest of Mrs. Hird ; other speakers were President G. H. Maycock and E. Y. Snow of the Kolob stake aud Bishop It. L. Mendenhall. Musical numbers were rendered by the Peerless male quartet: Mrs. YVihfa Holley and Emma Eckleson who sang a duet, and Howard Frailer Frail-er f Salt Lake who sang a solo. The dedicatory prayer hit Itlie Evergreen cemetery was offered by R. Leo Bird of Salt Lake. Mrs. Lavina S. Bird, wife of the late Spieer W. Bird, (lied at her home in Mapleton Friday evening following a prolonged illness. Mrs. Bird was born in Springville. January Jan-uary 10, 1SIW. the daughter of George and Lydia Kindred Storrs. Following her marriage to Mr. Bird she made her home in Mapleton where she had since lived. Throughout Through-out her life she was active in the ; L. D. S. church . j Surviving are, two sons and one ( daughter as follows: Lavell, Willis and Leila Bird, all of Mapleton, also I the following brothers and sister: 'George S. Storrs. American Fork; I.T. YV. Storrs, Salt Lake City; C. A. Storrs, Richfield, and Mrs. Alma J. Olsen, American I"ork. I Funeral services will be held In the Mapleton ward amusement hall Sunday afternoon at 12:10 o'clock. Interment will be In the Evergreen cemetery. |
