In honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, both of whom have been prominent in civic, church and social affairs of this vicinity, a number of social functions func-tions have been given the past several weeks. Numerous other parties have been given by friends recently in addition to farewell testimonials by civic and church groups with which tfte couple were affiliated. Members of the Jiiene Mere club were pleasantly entertained Wednesday night at Oe home of Mrs. Fay Haymond in Provo. A tasty luncheon was served early in the evening and later Mrs. Edna Clyde reviewed, ' "Council Assigned," by Mary Andrews. After Aft-er the book review a short period of bridge was also enjoyed. In attendance at the party were Mrs. Haymond, Mrs. Beth Jensen, Mrs. Marie Whiting, Mrs. Mabel Wright, Mrs. Gweneth Thorn, Mrs. Edna Clyde, Mrs. Helen Haymond, Mrs. Kate Lasson and Mrs, Mabel Simkins, the latter three being special guests. j Mrs. Lena Maycock of this city has returned to her home after spending several months with her daughter, Mrs. Esther Earl and family and Miss CecVMia Maycock at Arlington, Virginia. John W. Blanchard of this city left Thursday for an indefinite visit with his daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Gil-bert Pulsipher and family and his son Roy Blanchard and family at Denver, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Parker of Salt Lake City have returned to their home after several days visit with relatives and friends here. Merle Sargent, manager of the local D.T.R. company store, has spent the past several days with other store managers, viewing the new spring merchandise on the west coast. Members of the Firemen's auxiliary aux-iliary held a bi-monthly meeting Monday night, at the Fire hall. A pleasant time was spent with social chat followed by refreshments. refresh-ments. Mrs. Ben Wheeler and sons were in Salt Lake City several days of the past week due to the illness of the former's daughter, Mrs. Eda Kendell, who underwent under-went a major operation at the L. D. S. hospital during the week. Mrs. Elizabeth Whitmore of this city left the past week for San Francisco, Calif., where she plans to spend two months with her son Glenden Whitmore and family. One of the outstanding parties of the season was given for members mem-bers of the Home Culture club and their partners, Friday night at Memorial hall. Mrs. C. E. The hall was beautifully decorated with spring flowers and ferns, while each table held a beautiful potted plant as a centerpiece. A delicious luncheon was served early in the evening. President Ada. Barron presided and gave a toast to the men. M. W. Bird responded. W. Elmo Coffman entertained with two vocal duets and Harrison Conover also rendered two vocal selections.
