Show SOCIETY NEVS and Mrs. D. Ford 'Crandall at Boise, Idano, and also with other relatives and friends at Paul, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blanchard and Mrs. Blanchard's mother, Mrs. M. E. Morton, who is visiting here from Wilkie, Sask., Canada, spent Sunday at Saltair, Mt!. and Mrs. Frank Brown and son Teddy, are spending their vacation in Fairview canyon. Ad Libitum club members were delightfully entertained by Miss Bernice Jensen on Monday night. Early in the evening they were her guests at the picture show and later returned to the Jensen home, where a nicely arranged buffet luncheon was served. Those in attendance were, Miss Afton Bringhurst, Miss Naomi Sumsion, Miss Marie Clegg, Miss Elaine Crandall, Mrs. Hortense Hai-ward, Miss Betty Boyer, Miss Margaret Pierce, Miss Wanda Stewart and Mrs. Mae Miller. " Announcement is made of the recent marriage of Ivor Bramall of this city to Miss Laura Hales of Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. G. Lowry ' Anuer-son, Anuer-son, Mrs. Olive Anderson and her daughter, Mrs. Lyman Noyes who is visiting here from California, Cali-fornia, visited at the M. I. A. girls' home in Provo canyon on Sunday. The American Legion auxiliary chorus and their director, Guy Brown, were honored guests at a party Wednesday night, given by other members of the unit at Memorial hall. A short business meeting preceeded the social and officers of the unit were elected and delegates to the state convention con-vention at Cedar City named. The group then were entertained with progressive cards. Mrs. George Crandall won high score favor lor bridge; Mrs. Claus Tranchell for "Rook" and Mrs. Fern Whitney for "500". A tasty and well arranged ar-ranged buffet luncheon was served to nearly fifty members and guests. As a token of appreciation apprecia-tion for their services as a chorus each member was presented with a lovely vase of flowers. Mr. Brown and Mrs. J. W. Grant, director and president of the chorus, were also presented with Rifts. Mrs. Emma Gardner, auxiliary aux-iliary president, was general chairman. chair-man. A group of friends entertained at a trout dinner Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Child, the occasion being in celebration cele-bration of the birthday of Mrs. Ethel Rambeau of Provo. Social chat and music were other enjoyable en-joyable features. Mr. and Mrs. Marian Christen-sen Christen-sen of Albuquerque, N. M., L.D.S. missionary friends of Miss Lucille Lu-cille Sanford, were her guests here last Sunday. Mrs. Grant Nelson of Salt Lake City spent the week end as the guest of her sister, Mrs. Frank Sanford and family here. Members of the S. T. club were pleasantly entertained Thursday Thurs-day night at the home of Mrs. George Crandall. Contract bridge featured the party with high score prize awarded to Mrs. Gertrude Gert-rude Sumsion. Preceeding the games a tasty lunch was served by the hostesg to 12 club members. mem-bers. It was decided to postpone other club meetings until September Septem-ber 1. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Jr., and daughter Nana Lee and son Richard, Rich-ard, have recently returned from Los Angeles, Calif, where they went to attend the wedding of Mrs. Reynolds' Niece, Miss Lo Ree Rawson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Rawson and Robert K. Franklin, which took place in the Wilshire chapel at Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Ford and j baby son Gene have returned to their home in Salt Lake City after a vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Angus here and other oth-er relatives at Provo. One of the largest and most successful summer socials was held Wednesday- night in Hobble Creek canyon when the city officials, of-ficials, members of1 the fire department de-partment and other city employees, em-ployees, and their partners were entertained. J. F. Wingate acted as master of ceremonies and a delightful program of stories, music mu-sic and stunts was enjoyed around a huge campfire. A sumptous supper was served to about 65 people. Mrs. Polly Day of Elmo has spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Authur Bird and other relatives rela-tives here. Mrs. Julia Dallin of this :ity with her brother, William Lowe and wife, Earl and Paul Lowe and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Scovil of Monroe have just returned from Chino Valley,. Arizona, where they went to attend the funeral of Lee Daniels, husband of their sister Delia. It was the first time Mrs. Dallin had seen the sister in 32 years and the first time Mrs. Scovil had seen Mrs. Daniels in 43 years. The group also visited at Jerome, Clarksdale, Montzuma Castle near Jerome. The Gardens of the Gods, and other interesting places throughout the state. On their way home they spent some time at Boulder dam and also at Monroe. Mon-roe. . A group of friends including Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finley, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Perham, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison, Mr., and Mrs. J. W. Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson spent the past week end at Strawberry. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cranmer and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Bird have returned from a delightful ten days' vacation to the Northwest. North-west. They were guests of Mrs. Cranmer's sister, Mrs. Raymond Parker and family at Tacoma, Wash. On their way home, they stopped a short time with Mx. Canyon over the famous Navajo bridge to Zions and Bryces canyons can-yons and also at Wayne wonderland. wonder-land. Mrs. Milenda Sumsion left this week in company with her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooper of Salt Lake City, on a trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco, Calif. The Gleaner girls of the Second Sec-ond ward were delightfully entertained en-tertained last Wednesday evening at the home of Miss Elaine Brock-bank. Brock-bank. Berne Kindred of Tooele, has returned to his home after spending spend-ing the past week with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mis. John R. Kindred, Kin-dred, here, convalescing from a recent appendicitis operation. Bishop Alma Tranter and his mother, Mrs. Esther Tranter of Nephi, spent Saturday afternoon and evening as guests of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred. Dr. and Mrs. Myron Crandall of Rawlins, Wyo., have returned to their home following several days' visit with the former's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Amasia Rowland and family in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Amasia Rowland and children visited a few days of the past week with relatives at Cedar City. Mrs. Lillian Huntington and her daughter, Miss Lucy Childs, have just returned from a delightful trip to California. Mrs. Huntington Hunting-ton lias been there the past five weeks at the guest of her brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Hughes at Long Beach, and Mr. and Mrs. John G. Knox and family at San Gabriel. Miss Childs spent her . two weeks' vacation at the latter two cities and also with her mother, visited a number num-ber of interesting places along the coast. A group of friends enjoyed a pot-luck supper in Hobble Creek canyon Monday night. After supper, singing and stories, the latter including some of her famous fam-ous doll, Rosabell by Miss Cleo Pierce. Those in attendance were Miss Bertha Bearnson, Miss Fay Bearnson, Miss Nell Matley of Spanish Fork; Mis La Rue Beam-son Beam-son of Alberta; Can., Miss Helen Palfreyman, Miss Marie Simkins, Miss Minerva Johnson, Mrs. Rea Straw and Miss Pierce.
