Show Maycock Again Heads Springville SPRINGVILLE, Nov., 4. The city election here Tuesday was one of the closest and most hotly eon-tested eon-tested in the history of the city, the honors being divided between the Democrats and the .Citizens ticket. The Democrats re-elected Mayor G. R. Maycock and Recorder W. W. Harrison, while an entirely new city council was elected on the Citizens ticket. The successful candidates wTere as follows : Mayor G. R. Maycock, 310 ; 4-year councilman, Dr. John R. Anderson, An-derson, 375 ; 2-year eouncilmen, G. L. Barron, 318; William Whitehead. 318, and M. W. Bird, 341; recorder, 1 W. W. Harrison, 331; treasurer, Eliza Russell, 309. The defeated candidates were Harold Alleman, 314; A. W. Har-mer, Har-mer, 4-year councilman, 255 ; J. F. Wingate, 307, S. L. Mendenhall, 302, and H. Ralph Smart, 284, two-year eouncilmen ; Hannah Davis, recorder, record-er, 30G; Louisa Rowland, treasurer, 201. , |
