Show Prof Webers Report on Idaho Gem Mine Prof J II Weber well known mining min-ing expert recently made a report on the Idaho Gem mine near Montpelier Idaho in which he fully confirms the belief of the management that it has an excellent chance of making the Gem a very rich mine Bunches of high grade lead ore arc found throughout an extensive mineral zone and there is every indication that large bodies of the same material will be opened at depth Prof Weber says The mineralized zone in the lime is over 200 feet wide and on either side of the lime are qnartzitc and clay slates In this mineralized zone there are two fissures in which lead is found also across I a-cross fissure On the east side of the limo runs a copper veins low grade I but which might be very rich with depth The lead ore is very rich in lead nearly 11 carload has heenshippe dwhich assayed assay-ed over 80 per cent It is sought after by the smelters as a flux and they pay freight and melt it free and sometimes my a premium From more than a dozen places on the vein lead has been found The work done in years gone by has been gophering for pockets of lead Now he company has gone after it in good shape They elected u shaft house and hoist by a whim They are now down over 150 feet and have lead nearly all the way down The premonitions in the shaft are that they are nearing an ore body in the bottom and if this ore body is encountered in the shaft drifts each way and a crosscut should be run and then another 100 feet should be sunk immediately as no permanent or very large ore bodies can be expected to be found on or near the surface The company owns by location 35 claims making 700 acres enough for half a dozen companies There is a fine road to the property and plenty of water and wood There ire stables bunkhouse dining rooms a blacksmith shop large shaft house a fine single compartment shaft 150 feet deep well timbered and mining can be carried on the year round With so many things in its favor and ore in to many places an idealistic formation to mine ina and with so much property at its command I can see no reason why the IdahoGem should not become a great profitable mine Any one
