Show A4 • WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2010 Wedding Allen, Wakeland Phil and Andrea Allen are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter, Jenie, to Adam Ross Wakeland, son of John and Christie Wakeland, on Saturday, Feb. 20. Jenie is a graduate from Spanish Fork High School and Utah Valley University where she majored in English. She currently works as a writer and copy editor for the Spanish Fork Sentinel. Adam is a graduate of Hunter High School. He completed two years in the criminal justice program at Merced Community College and now works with the Provo City Police Department. The two will make their first home in Spanish Fork. Grandparents of the couple are Caroline Poulsen, Janet Lewis and Nita Wakeland. If in all of our excitement we have missed you, please consider this your invitation. Tifestyles Guardian of Your Community News Obituary Obituary Mae Robertson Bahr Wilson Fern R. Hanson Mae Robertson Bahr Wilson, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Salem on Feb. 10. She was born Nov. 30, 1916 in Lake Shore to Eli and Lillian Burt Robertson. They moved to Spanish Fork where she lived until she married Darrell Bahr and moved to Salem. They had six children when Darrell passed away in 1953. She later married Donald W. Wilson. They had one son. They also raised a granddaughter whose mother died in childbirth. She was a faithful member of the LDS church, serving in many organizations. She was a very caring person and was always there to help anyone in need. She loved to sew, quilt and do oil paintings. After the passing of her second husband, in April of 1999, her granddaughter continued to live and care for her in her home. She is survived by seven children: Duane Bahr (Linda); Bonnie Jean Davis (Neil); Carl Bahr (Mary); Carol Wood DeGraw (Terry); Janet Johnson (Aden); Ranee Peterson (Lane); Don Jay Wilson (JoAnn); granddaughter, Jeana Bahr; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Daniels (Jim). She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rita Eva Bahr; two sons-inlaw, Neil Davis and Bill Wood; two sisters and a brother, Clea Davis Harmon (Mike); Beth Johnson (Ken), Ted Robertson (Nell); her two husbands and parents. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 13, in Salem. Interment will occur at Salem City Cemetery. Information on the website will be updated as it becomes available. Fern Martha Rowe Hanson passed away peacefully at her home in Spanish Fork on Feb. 12. She was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Scofield, the ninth child of John William and Barbara Ann Christensen Rowe. She was raised in a home where love and hard work were taught. She attended schools in Castle Gate and Price and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1936. She was married to Roy Williams Hanson on Nov. 14, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised four children and enjoyed 45 wonderful years together until Roy's passing in December 1985. Their journey together now continues. Throughout her life, Fern was an immaculate homemaker, a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress. She provided a safe and loving home for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved tending to her flower gardens and enjoyed associating with friends in various literary and bridge clubs. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life including ward Relief Society and Primary President, Stake Relief Society and Primary President and Visiting Teacher. She is survived by her children, Duane (Mary Margaret) Hanson of Cottonwood Heights; Paula (James) Bailey of Price; Janis (Max) Johnson of Spanish Fork; and Melanie (Ronald) Greenway of Carlisle, Pa.; 22 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends who have sustained and supported Fern in recent years and who enabled her to stay in her home. A special thank you is offered to the good people at Aspen Senior Care and Gentle Home Health and Hospice who have lovingly cared for her. Funeral Services will be Saturday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Trails Ward chapel, 90 South Main, Spanish Fork. Friends and family may visit on Friday, Feb. 19, from 6 til 7:30 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9:45 a.m. til 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. walkerfamilymortuary.com Missionary Vietnam Memorial Steve Wilson announced Wednesday, Feb. 10 that the City has undertaken an effort to bring the Vietnam Memorial Wall to Spanish Fork Sept 9-13, 2010. Mayor Wayne Andersen has pledged his support. It will cost just over $4,500 to make this happen, and volunteers will be needed to set up, usher and take down the display. He is the son of Richard and Gaye Christiansen. He will be speaking on Feb 21, at 9 a.m. in the Spanish Fork South Stake Center located at 1150 E. 1240 S, Spanish Fork, Utah.
