They planned a faculty luncheon on March 6, 2009 to show the faculty what great skills they have developed. The food students were very excited to show them their culinary skills and also serving the food to the faculty. .* ' The menu included: potato soup, cauliflower soup, chili, cheese toast, and spinach vinaigrette salad. For dessert they offered cheesecake and banana cream pie. The food students want to start a new tradition with this being the start of it. They plan on doing two more luncheons this year and passing it on. To start it off, they were asked to cater the FCCLA banquet; they also may plan a fundraiser to get new supplies for the foods room. Some of the comments the teachers left were, "Mmm good, what a*n awesome skill to learn, you will make a super marriage partner, missionary companion, great roommate, not necessarily in that order," by Brenda Gillie. Assistant principal, Mr. Dudley loved the Cauliflower soup and was very proud of the students. Another faculty member wrote, "Loved it, how about doing this everyday? Yummy!" Fork High DECA qualified for state level competition Kaydee O'Brien SFHS The DECA Club at SFHS made it to state...again! This was a big one where there were over 50+ business fields to compete in. Just to name a few: business plans, where they would have to make a plan how to run the business; role play, where they would play out the part of a manager talking to the boss; questioning, questions asked about business and marketing; tests and quiz bowl, when 4 students would sit in a circle with buzzers and be asked questions. Larry McConnell competed in the Accounting with 30 other students and placed 7th. John Christiansen competed in Marketing Management with 75 other students and placed 10th. This is a great club to get involved in; it's perfect for understanding how to prepare for the business field. News about people you know.
