"I decided I needed to break out of my shyness bubble. I needed to talk to people. My whole goal of the week was to make some new friends." Phillips enjoyed the entire experience of Boys State and becoming Governor. "It was really good actually. I had a lot of fun," he said. For next year, Phillips plans to carry on the Boys State tradition and be involved with the participants. "I want to do more of the same thing but I want to be more of a hands-on Governor. I want to go out and make new friends. That's the whole goal of it."
