Scholarship golf tournament a big success Dana Robinson ASSOCIATE EDITOR Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Spanish Oaks Golf Course the 16th annual Spanish Fork Rotary/ Chamber of Commerce Pro-Am Golf Tournament took place, raising more scholarship money for deserving High School students than ever before. The tournament officially got under way at 10:30 a.m. with sponsors, celebrities, invited guests, and golf team members from both BYU and UVU teeing off. The weather was unkind and all participants were glad they had on layers of clothes. One of the BYU golf team members from Las Vegas commented, "This is cold! I'm used to playing in 90 degree temperatures." Following tournament play, the fund raising continued during lunch with an auction where an autographed Jazz basketball elicited the biggest bid. Dr. Tracy Frandsen who works each year on the tournament stated, "Our auction this year has been one of the better ones we've had. That combined with more sponsors this year and interest on the endowment means all 18 students who applied for a scholarship this year will receive a check to help them further Patti Witham, Executive their education."
