Show orts A12 • WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2010 Guardian of Your Community News Wrestling: a family affair William X. Barron DFjH/SFJH COACH Families from one community in the Nebo School District season had state finalist brothers in the 2010 junior and senior high championships. While the three junior high athletes were on the combined SFJH/DFJH team, their three brothers won state titles for three different Nebo District teams. Altogether in the course of two weeks, these three families had a total of five state champions and one runner-up. Parents Jed and Cherie Ashworth of Spanish Fork had the honor of eighth-grader Branson of winning the state title at 100 pounds for Spanish Fork Jr. High; for Branson it was his fourth consecutive state championship, one at middle school and three in the junior high division. In school, Branson maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Two weekends later, his senior brother Kaleb, wrestling for Spanish Fork High, also captured the high school championship at 145. Jed and Kaleb became the first father-son state champions from Spanish Fork.
