CARTER'S HOTOGRAPHY Virgil Jesse Brown, 77, was called home on May 12,2009. Virgil was born in Gehring,Neb.onDec. 2, 1931 to Opal and Elijah Brown. After graduating from high school in Wilder, Idaho, he entered the Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. He married his beautiful wife, Barbara Kay Hickman, on Feb. 1,1960. Virgil served as a police office for 33 years in Boise, Idaho, including working with young people as a School Resource Officer at Capital High School from 1976-1993. Later he spent 17 years with the U.S. Marshals service at the Federal Building in Boise. His personality, humor and ability tofindcommon ground with almost anyone allowed him to have a positive influence on all who knew him. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 49 years; daughters Kathy Rigby of Provo, Laura Henry of Spanish Fork; 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Russell Brown, Dorothy Basey, Roma Wagoner, Lois Schmidt and John Brown. He was preceded in death by his brother Gene, his son Nick, and his daughter Katie. The funeral services for Virgil were held Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Spanish Fork East Stake Center. A viewing was held prior to the funeral, followed by interment at the Spanish Fork Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkerfamilymortuary.com. In retirement, Virgil has been fulfilling a service mission at the local LDS food cannery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to your local food bank in Virgil's memory. Incredible scenery with mature trees, Todd Harold Orton passed away Sunday morning, May 10, 2009. He was born on Oct. 26, 1966, in Cedar City, to Harold G. Orton, Jr. and Twyla Orton Fallows. He had a son, Kyler, and a daughter, Cali. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1984. He was a proud member of the U.A. Local 57, where he worked as a pipefitter for 24 years, alongside many friends. He put his heart and soul into his work and those who knew him knew that he would do anything for them. He had a great love for adventure and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, riding fourwheelers at Newcastle, and spending time with his family and friends. Todd is survived by his children, Kyler and Cali, who were his pride and joy; mother, Twyla (Batt) and step-father, Russell M. Fallows; sister, Jackie Olsen(Jedd); along with his nieces and nephew who thought the world of him. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold G. Orton, Jr.; and grandparents, Wells and Neta Batt; and Harold and Elko Orton. A viewing was held Thursday, May 14 at Walker Mortuary and on Friday, May 15 at an LDS chapel. Funeral services followed. The burial was held at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
