Skyler's favorite classes in school are AP Music Theory, Theater Tech and Seminary. About his favorite classes, Skyler said, "AP Music Theory because music fascinates me. I like Tech because it's what I love to do. I like Seminary because of the atmosphere." Skyler's favorite food is spicy chicken. His favorite bands are Boyce Avenue and Yellowcard. His favorite book is "The Sum of All Fears," and his favorite movie is 'The Pursuit of Happyness." He also likes to play basketball. Skyler has earned his Eagle Scout and in his free time Skyler, enjoys fly-fishing because it is calming. He also likes to do theatrical tech work because it is fascinating. He also loves to play the piano, even though he doesn't practice much. Skyler's goals include graduating from high school, getting a full time job and serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, he would like to get a master's degree in psychology. Skyler is involved with the high school cross country team and is in the school choir. He also does tech for shows. He recently participated in the school musical "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying." When asked to discuss how he feels about education, Skyler said, "I feel that public education is a must in order for society to function. Many of my teachers at our school have helped me to recognize what I want to be when I grow up. They have helped make me informed to go to college and to make it easier to hear about what to do." One unique thing about Skyler'is when he goes flyfishing, he ties his own flies and fishes with them. Mr. Porter said, "I have had Skyler in my class for the past two years. Last year he worked as my TA. When Skyler asked if he could TA for me last year I was more than willing because he is a young man who has learned some great computer and technology skills over the years. Last year I was able to get' to know Skyler on a more personal basis and learned that he is a very outgoing person who does a lot of service in his community. I ndticed from his board-game-playing skills that Skyler is a problem solver. He is able to look at the situation, use all available resources and come up with a good solution to the problem. Even though I do not have Skyler this year in class, I enjoy visiting with him in the halls and during breaks during the day."
