On February 10th, members of the Honors Society (comprised of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students) read stories to all first or second-grade students that wanted to participate. Younger students were encouraged to bring their favorite book, and the members read to them to encourage literacy and the joy of reading. Larsen Courtesy photo LOVE: For a learning activity on Feb. 13, 2009 at Larsen Elementary, students changed up the routine for the day and rather than focusing on reading, writing and arithmetic, they learned a lesson on love. After weeks of collecting donations of fleece fabric, they cut and tied.blankets that will be delivered through BYU nurses to a hospital in Argentina where families without much money go do have their babies delivered. Babies that would have otherwise been wrapped in paper or plastic upon leaving the hospital will now.be wrapped in a soft, warm blanket that the students gladly made,. The classes loved the activity and hope to do more things like this in the future. Pictured, left to right, are Raymond Naulu and Jason Hergenreger.
