Spanish Fork high in SkillsUSA Thousands of high school and college students compete each year in the SkillsUSA competition, held at Salt Lake Community College for the state of Utah. This competition brings the best that Utah has to offer in the skills and trade areas. It is •# full day of intense judging and competition and Spanish Fork High School sends several students each year to compete in many categories, and this year was no exception. Zach Taylor, the teacher at SFHS of Auto Body and Collision Repair, and. Lou Crandall, the teacher of commercial photography at SFHS are proud to announce that Tyson Robertson placed first in photography, Bryce Taylor placed first in collision repair, Devin Nelson placed first in automotive refinishing, and Garrett Robarge finished third in automotive refinishing. The three first place winners will now go on to compete at nationals held in Kansas City, Missouri this June and compete against top students from each state. SkillsUSA competition is nationally known, on the secondary and post secondary levels for bringing students in hundreds of trade areas to compete in their field of study against other top performing students. If a student wins at the national level, many prizes are awarded from vendors, along with cash and scholarships offered by many colleges and universities around the country as well as major sponsors who want to employ these top students. This year's SkillsUSA Nationals will be held in Kansas City, Missouri on June 23-28, 2008, with thousands of students competing for top honors in their related field and talent.
