Show I Jjfestyles A4 • WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2007 Library news Milestone Missionaries Robert O. Bowen Marvin and Judy Tolman Robert O. Bowen is about to become an octogenarian. In honor of the occasion, his wife, Billie Lou Moses Bowen, is hosting an open house for family and friends on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Spanish Fork Senior Citizen's Center (157 West Center Street). Mr. Bowen has enjoyed a long and colorful life filled with a variety of opportunities and adventures. In his 80 years he has been a recognized scholar; a decorated soldier; an Idaho farmer; a beloved high school teacher; a prominent member of the state legislator; a governor appointed director and tax commissioner; and a lobbyist for the AARP. He has seen much of the world and has been a devoted father and husband who loves people, values his memories, and still has a joke to tell for every occasion. Born in 1927 to James Miller and Belva Gallup Bowen, Bob married Lucile Livinston in 1946. She passed away in May of 2005. They have three children (Kent, Marsha, and Blake), ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Later this month, Bob and his family will continue to celebrate his 80th birthday at Kent's lakeside home near Houston, Texas. Obituary Jared R. Bastian Jared R. Bastian, 3 1 , passed away Oct. 5 from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Redmond. He came into our lives on Feb. 25, 1976 in Salt Lake City. Jared attended high school at North Sevier. He drove trucks and worked heavy equipment for a living. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children, family and friends. Jared had a great love for horses and dogs.
