Show iWW SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 17, 1999 Community Meet title Press vice, raising their two sons Patrick and " Barbara Pyles Meet the Press" will feature our wonderful employees who work behind the scenes. Upon taking over the newspaper I met with Barb Pyles and asked if shed consider writing news stories. Heavens no, she 1 dont replied to want make anyone mad, I just want to write interesting stories that make people happy. And Barbs stories have done n nonficjust that. Her tion articles have graced the S UN for lOyears. She has also authored numerous childrens stories, and had a childrens column in The Spectrum for several years. Barb and Jim Pyles are just a couple of midwestemers at heart; he from Oklahoma and her from Nebraska. They moved out west after Jim retired from the ser good-naturedl- y, Jimmy in Las Vegas. They are proud grandparents of three. My kids are my proudest accomplishments, said Barb. Theyre good young men. During her 23 years in Las Vegas, Barb held supervisory positions at Syntel, where she worked in data processing. But no matter where the Pyles have lived, the one constant has been their devotion to God and Church. They have volunteered for many positions in churches they worshipped at, especially enjoying working with youth groups. Jim and Barbs love for kids is reciprocated, with neighbor kids following them around like the Pied Piper! Barb has discovered a special skill in her writing. Her friendly personality and good questions bring out insightful answers in those she interviews.
