Mr. Howe is a Salt Lake attorney, and president ' of the Utah Young Democrats. Mri. Howe is the former Marlene Dee. Colorado Vacation Mr and Mrs. Carter F. Tomlin-sn- o 1391 Ramona Ave. their two daughters Catherine and Patsy have just returned from a vacation in Denver, Colorado. The family motored to Denver and stayed at the home of their sister Mrs. A. M. Bidderman. They visited the ''Ranch 74" while there. They enjoyed fishing in the Colo-rado streams, went bowling and Mrs. Tomlinson said they spent one day at the Woolhurst Country Club, where they swam and tried their luck at water skiing. Back From Coast Vacation Just returning from Annaheim, California from a visit with hit sister are Mr. and Mrs. Allan Howe and their three children, Cynthia, 3, Lyndon, 2, Kenneth 1. A visit to Disneyland was on the agenda in the packed two week vacation, along with swimm-ing in the ocean at Del Mar, and Corone beaches, a trip to Marine-lan- d where they saw trained porp-oises and seals along with all kinds of deep sea life displayed in huge glass containers. "Around The Town" Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nordgren of Brookhill Drive, entertained the neighbors on the two blocks at a dinner at the Chapman home during the week. Following the dinner, the Chap-man- s showed a group of slides of their trip to Hawaii taken in the spring, and the films were highlighted with the dancing of a professional hula dancer, Carol Bennion. Dancing on the patio concluded the delightful party for the 35 guests. Nurses Feted At Dinner The Memorial Medical Center sponsored a luncheon at Beau Brummel on Wed. Aug. 14 for the Junior Class Student Nurses of the Brigham Young School of Student Nursing. Dr Richard Barton made the arrangements and served as host to the 34 nurses. Miss Eileen Wight, secretary of the school and Miss Thelma Cochran, school coordinator and instructor also attended. Shrimp Louie was served and was enjoyed by all. The Sludent nurses receive schooling at Brigham Young, then get surgical and hospital training at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. During' the summer they have been at the clinic for observation of office nursing. Mr. and Mrs. Athas Host Family Party Open house was held at th home of Peter E. Athas, 2660 Highland Drive, Thursday night. Members of the family attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Athas, 2057 Manwod Drive, and" their children, Nini, Trisha, and the extremly new member of the family, Peter. Also attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Paulos of Magna, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris A. Paulos and family. A delicious buffet was served by Mrs. Athas, and included such delicacies as Greek pastries. Innumerable " friends attended during the day, and wires of con-gratulations were sent from all over the country. The day was Mr. Athas "name day" which is an equivalent of our birthdays and was celebrated with typical Greek hospitality. "We moved," she announced ruefully. The Cortese family, consisting of Mr and Mrs. and their three children, Terry Lane, 8; Julia Ann, 6; and Linda Kay, 5, is now at home at 2191 Fishers Lane, awaiting the completion of their new home at 1894 E. Millbrook Road. They hope to be moved in by the last of December. Alliance Youth Fellowship group of Neighborhood chapel enjoyed an outing at Lagoon, Wednesday 21. Mrs. Constance was in charge of the outing and they enjoyed swimming as part of the days entertainment. They left at 10:30 a.m. and made an all day outing of it. Yellowstone Lures Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Lefler of 2648 So. 17th S. and their dau-ghters, Terri and Diane have just returned from a three week vacation which they spent fishing and water skiing in this area. They spent several days at Yellow-stone Park, and at Bear Lake, and the rest of the time 'at the new Wanship Reservoir just east of Salt Lake. Mr. Lefler says that anyone who is interested in water skiing need go no further than the new Reservoir for excellent sport. The MIA girls from the East Mill Creek Fourth Ward returned Thursday from an outing to Bear Lake, Idaho. Under the direction of the Mutual presidency, Delsa Hale, Lucille Whiting, and Ruby Richards. ' While there they took turns on K P. so that each was sharing the work, but they all took turns at the fun, water skiing, boating, and lots of food! |
