"Bud" Brain Bud's Men's Duds stepped out with the Sugar House business firms expanding during the past few weeks. Just in time for the annual Father's Day boom, M.L. "Bud Brain opened his ultramodern ultra-modern new mens' shop in Sugar House. ' The new store, formerly occupied occu-pied by a furniture firm, boasts a new flag-stone front, the colorful color-ful color scheme Is in pastel shades of tan, green and beautiful walnut paneling and modern drop lights a'dd an extra "artistic touch to the new interior. t Providing three times the space, the firm has added increased lines, larger selections in every field of merchandise, and customers, cus-tomers, shop in the quiet restful atmosphere. A small waiting room provides a resting spot for customers with the comfort of cool air conditioned rooms in summer sum-mer and the glow of an open fire place in winter. Of much interest to the men folks are the many lines of merchandise mer-chandise stocked by the firm, which has been in Sugar House the past 12 years. Arrow and Enro shirts, Jantzen sportswear, Lee hats, Florsheim shoes, Champion Champ-ion slacks, and Regal Manor clothes along with the accessories of Swank jewelry, are stocked by the firm. Assisting Mr. Brain in his haberdashery hab-erdashery are Willard H. Bruder-er, Bruder-er, who has been with him for 12 years; Ken Olsen, well-known in Sugar House after five years in the store; Don Antczak, has been waiting on Sugar House patrons the past two and a half years along with Ron Fredrickson and Thorpe. Mr. Brain is active in Sugar House civic and church affairs and prominent in the Rotary club. A new business addition to the Curtis Coal Company began this spring with Dale Curtis at the head of the new enterprise. The firm is handling a new irredes-cent irredes-cent quartzite building stone. The new stone is on exhibition at the coal company in the new stone front decor. The stone is a Utah product and is mined in the southern south-ern part of the state. It comes in a variety of colors, and is artistically artis-tically and beautifully used on exterior ex-terior buildings, fire-places, walks, patios and many other area3 of the home, The stone may be pur- Sugar H ouse Expansion , (Continued from Page 1) chased in largo quantities or as small an order as a single stone. Among other new businesses for the area is the new Jack and Jill store, a childrens specialty shop, and the new Standard Optical shop in the new Dixon building. Valora Snack Bar The Valora Candy Company, which has been located in the Mclntyre Center, will move to new headquarters in the building just vacated by Bud's Mens Duds, 2124 South 11th East. They expect to open Saturday June 15th, according to Mr. Andersen. And-ersen. The new location will provide pro-vide space for a counter and booths and the new spot will offer sandwiches, sand-wiches, salads, pie and coffee as well as 24 flavors of their popular ice cream. And of course they will continue : their specialty. . . the famed candy. ' The building has been completely rmodeled and newly decorated. Also planned is to maintain a late evening hours to better serve the public of the area, Mr. Andersen Ander-sen said. |
