Show A special newspaper dispatch from Washington, quotes a member mem-ber of the Senate committee on Privileges and Elections as saying that probably no action will be taken by the committee on the Smoot case until next December, and he thought then the matter would be dropped. And he probably prob-ably knows what he is talking about. Those who expect to see Senator Smoot ousted will not get much comfort from this. The anti's are extrelnely unfortunate; they should have wTaited for a Democrat Dem-ocrat to practice upon, then they would have ren him bounced the minute he stuck his head through the door. And such is politics. |
