Zah expressed appreciation of efforts by Judge Carroll to help resolve the dispute andhopes that the meeting will lead to resolution of the complex issue. He feels that the thawing of relations between the Navajo and Hcpi tribes is benefiting the tribes in areas not immediately related to the land dispute. He cited as examples the proposed construction of schools and roads. Zah stated that one of his campaign promises had been to invest more tribal interest and UNDC.
