Show Will Supervise Work of Red Cross in City and County Schools. In order- to be in readiness for the opening of schools, when the Red Cross junior peace program will be begun, an official Salt Lake county junior Red Cross committee has been appointed. A letter of appointment has been sent to Dr. ID. A. Smith, chairman, asking him to take charge of Salt Lake school districts in order to systematize the four Salt Lake county school districts. The following school heads will serve with Dr. Smith: C. K. Gaufin, to have charge of Murray district; J. T. YVorlton. Granite district, and D. C. Jensen, Jen-sen, Jordan district. These chairmen will later select subcommittees who will assist as-sist in the work. Charles F. Kelley will be treasurer and Mrs. W. O. Cleland, secretary sec-retary of the general committees. It is expected that the schools of the county will take even a greater part in the coming Red Cross junior work program pro-gram than formerly. The definitely outlined out-lined program for tlie schools has not been received, but will come in the near future from the eastern Red Cross headquarters. The schools will also aid in the health crusade, which the Red Cross will aid by working in connection with the Utah public pub-lic health service, giving every cooperation coopera-tion to the movement. J. V. Jacobs has charge of this phase of the work. He is already organizing bis campaign to better bet-ter the health of Utah's people. His office of-fice is at 120 East First South street. |
