Show DEMOCRATIC WOMEN FORM STATE CLUB Mrs. R. E. I. Collier Named Permanent Chairman of New Political Organization Organ-ization Launched Yesterday. The Women's State Democratic club was launched yesterday afternoon when fifty Democratic women of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake county met at the Newhouse hotel, at the call of State Chairman Mathonihah Thomas and took preliminary steps toward effecting a permanent organization. Mrs. R. E. L. Collier was named permanent per-manent chairman; Mrs. H. J. Hayward and Mrs. John Henry Evans, vice chairmen, chair-men, to represent Salt Lake City and Salt Lake county; Mrs. Elizabeth M. Cohen was chosen secretary and Mrs. Thomas D. Pitt, treasurer. Three more vice chairmen to represent Salt Lake City and Salt Lake county, and one from each other county in the state are yet to be selected. The next meeting of the organization is to be held next Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock on the mezzanine floor of the Newhouse hotel. At that time an executive committee to net with the chairman and secretary will be chosen, the organization perfected, and a declaration dec-laration of principles will be issued. The Women's State Democratic club will co-operate with the Democratic State Central committee during the coming com-ing campaign. Branch clubs will be organized or-ganized in every county, precinct and district throughout the state, and all the organization work will be done by women. |
