Show NEWS FROM AMERICAN FORK. Special Vorrettomlmrt to Flu Time. American Fork, Aug. 5. The Presbyterian Pres-byterian Teacher' convention met in this city yesterday for a three weeks tcsaion. The session opened with a reception re-ception in the Presbyterian church last night, wbeu addresses were made by local and visiting delegate. Classes have been arranged and placed In charge of the following gentlemen: Professor T. V. Day, of the San Fran-cisso Fran-cisso Theological seiniuary, and Kever-end Kever-end G. X, Martin of Maati. have charge of the Knglish, Creek and Hebrew bible studies. Miss K. At present ouly twenty-live delegates are here, though over 100 are expected to arrive during the wtiok. In Americon Fork canon yesterday, Edward Caton, a resilient of ,4!pine, met with n serious accident. He was returning from the smelters, and when a short distance abovo Deer Creek, his horses became frightened and ran down the road at a rapid gait He tried to subdue the flight of the horses, but accidentally one of the reins dropped from his hands, and by pulling on one line the horses ran off the road and rolled down the steep bank into the creek. The occupant fell under the wagon and was seriously crushed and bruised. liefore help could arrive one of the horses was drowned; the other w,i3 rescued. The unfortunate man was brought down from the canon by Dave Pratt and was taken to his home in Alpine, where the aid of a physician was summoned. His recovery is despaired de-spaired of.
