Show DEATH OF A KEELEY PATIENT. F. A. Harmon, of Oregon, Dies From a Complication of Diseases. F. A. Harmon, who died at the Keeley institute in-stitute last night at S:30 o'clock, came here from Oregon, not Ogden as erroneously stated by a morning paper, but was a native of Kansas, where his home and relatives are. Dr. Groves stated to a Times reporter that if it had not been for the earnest entreaties of Harmon's wife, he would have refused to receive him for treatment, as he saw- at once that the man was in a precarious condition from the effects of his prolonged debauch. Dr. Groves states further that Harmon was suffering from kidney trouble in an aggravated aggra-vated form, with other complications, but the immediate cause was congestion of the brain. Dr. Groves referred the reporter to Dr. Bower and to W. H. Smith, a relative of Mr. Harmon's, for verification of the above statement. No inquest will be held, as the cause of death was so apparent as to render it unnecessary. The remains were removed to the morgue by Coroner Harris, however, and will he shipped to Kansas for buriai. Mr. Harmon leaves a wife and five children well provided for. He was a druggist by professiou, and was thoroughly qualified for the business, except for his unfortunate slavery to drink. This is the first case which has been received at the Salt Lake institute, where the patient has received treatment and died. |
