Walton of Rich, aud William Allison of Summit shared the platform plat-form as vice-chairmen, while H. E. Buckley of l'rovo was made sergeaut-at-arms. .Judge McBride was irrceted with thundering thunder-ing applause as he mounted the state, and addressing the convention briefly as its representative rep-resentative on the national executive committee. com-mittee. A committee on resolutions, consisting con-sisting of S. J. Keuyon, E. B. Critchlow, L. K. Rogers and W. Nib Icy, was appointed. The purpose for which the convention was assembled having arrived, and the nom- i inations for delegates to the republican national na-tional convention boing in order, the following follow-ing launched O. J. Salisbury of Salt Lake, by George Sutherland of Provo. Frank J. Cannon of Ogden, by John M. Zane of Suit Lake. The name of J. S. Painter was presented, but that gentle HUUI gracefully declined and "threw his strength" to Mr. Cann m. In the meantime John Zane had in his political adolescence created a sensation by re ffe ring to Frank Conuoii as a mormon. Mr. Cannon resented it. He wanted no disitnetion draw n in a convention that was covened uuder the teaching of the republican repub-lican party. He would accept the responsibility responsi-bility only as a republican and to close the wound that Mr. Zane had unintentionally inflicted in the sweeping trusts of his sophomoric broad sword the election of Cannon as well as lhatof Salubary was uiudc, unanimous. Blaine was vociferously opoosed aud the convention adjourned sine die. . The League I ouventiou. Immediately after the territorial convention conven-tion had coueluded its labors the territorial league convention was called toorderfor the purpose of electing territorial officers and to elect delegates to the national convention of league clubs ; also to disseminate the teachings teach-ings and perfect the organization of the league throughout the territory. It was called to order by Arthur Brown, w hereupon committees were appo uted ou credentials, constitution and by-laws, platform and on the selection of officers at the league for the ensuing year, after which the convention adjourned" until 10 o'clock.
