The legislative, executive and judicial appropriation ap-propriation bill, which has jtsl becu reported re-ported from the house committee ou appropriations by Mr. Butterwortu, makes a number of provisions of interest inter-est to Utah, as follows: For salary of governor, $.'000; chief justice and three associate judges, at $3000 each, ami secretary at $1800, a total of $10,400; for legislative expenses, namely, for contingent expenses of secretary's office, $1500; for contingent expenses of the territory to be expended by the governor, $."00; for the salaries of the live commissioners appointed under the act entitled "an act lo amend section 53M of the revised statues of the United States in reference to bigamy and other purposes," approved March 32, 1W-1, at $.1000 each, fcM.OOt), for the follow ing expenses of the commission. For traveling expenses, printing, stationary, sta-tionary, clerk's hire ami office rent, $8500; provided that out of this sum the commission is hereby authorized to pay the secretary of the territory who is secretary and disbursing agent, a reasonable rea-sonable sum for sueh service not exceeding ex-ceeding $300 for the fiscal year 1801, for compensation of the officers of election, including contingent expenses, $23,000. For surveyor-general of the territory of Utah, $2500; for the clerks iu his office, of-fice, $5000, iu all $5300; for runt of office for the surveyor-general, pay of messenger, messen-ger, fuel, stationery and incidental expenses, ex-penses, $1100. |
