Meeting was hold, commencing at 10 a.m., in the newly-covered bowery, SO by 12-t feet, the stand of which was caipeted and otherwise tastefully fitted up fur the occasion. K'ders John Taylor and George Q. Cannon preached. In the afternoon, Elders V. D. Richards, Rich-ards, R. L. Campbell, D. B. Huntington, Hunt-ington, R. T. Burton and Isaac Groo addre-sed the congregation. Tlie visiting saints were generously entertained by the citizens of .Box Klder. Kl-der. On the morning of the 5;h, President Presi-dent oung and others rode down to the switch and welcomed the excursion ptii ty from Salt Lake. At the first meeting, Elders Joseph F. Smith, Joseph A. and John W. Young, K. D. Woolley, S. W. Richards Rich-ards and other elders from Salt Lake were on the stand. Prcsi ..lent George A. Smith preached interestingly and pointedly on several topics, and was followed by Klder George () Cannon. In the afternoon, President Wells preached, and was followed in some remarks by Klder Lewis. President Young also spoke, instructing and edifying edi-fying the saints. The choirs of Brkdiam and Willard city were in attendance at the meetings meet-ings and discoursed sweet music. One notable circumstance was the attendance at 'meeting of .Mrs. Mary Smith, relict of Silas Smith, brother to the lather of the Prophet Joseph, and the last surviving member of that generation of the family; the venerable lady received marked attention. . Pi'Osident Young rode down to the switch after meeting with the return party, who wished him and traveling companions a pleasant and spiritually profitable trip. |
