Show TELEGRAMS. ELECTION RETURNS. Boston, s. Representatives Twich-ell Twich-ell and Hooper are re-elected to Congress Con-gress from the 3rd and 4 th districts. ' Sew York. New Y'ork, S. The election passed off without disturbance. The military weie not seen. There seems no doubt the entire Tammany county ticket is elected. In the 3rd Congressional district, dis-trict, Slocum, Democrat, seems elected over Webster and Whiting, Republican. Republi-can. Kinsella, Democrat, is elected in the 2nd district. Ketcham, Republican, Republi-can, U probably chosen in the 12th district. dis-trict. Eighty-nine districts from various vari-ous parts of the State, outside of the city, thus far heard from, give a Democratic Dem-ocratic gain of from twenty to sixty-eight, sixty-eight, as compared with the Presiden tial vote of lStiS, when Seymour had ten thousand majority. Troy, 8. J. M. Warren, Democrat, is elected to Congress by a very large majority, probably 2,500. AIar-lnl. Baltimore, S. Archer and Swaun, Democrats, are elected to Congress from the 2nd and 3rd districts of Maryland, Mary-land, respectively, by 4,000 and 5,000 majority. MassaoliHiett. Boston, S. A very full vote was polled at the State election to day. The result in Boston foots up forGovernor : Claflin, 10,046; Adams, 9,720; Phillips, Phil-lips, 1,806. Later from Maisfachusctf h. Boston, 8. Returns from 168 cities and towns give Claflin, 41,0y3; Adams, 21,080; Phillips, 11,825. The same towns last year gave Claflin ,35.411; Adams, 20,632; Chamberlain, 7,710. Claflin will have as large a majority as last year on the increased total vote. His majority last year was 0,S00. All the Republican Congressmen are reelected, re-elected, Twitchell in the 3rd district by about three hundred majority, and Hooper in the 4th district by over two thousand. In the 21st Congressional district, Kliis H. Roberts, Republican, is chosen by 1,500 ma jority. Monroe county has given 1,000 majority for Woodford, a Democratic gain of nearly 700. Rhode Island. ' Providence, R. I., s. The Congressional Congres-sional election in this State took place to-day. In the western district the vote was very light. James M, Pendleton, Pen-dleton, Republican, has a majority of 3b7, with two towns to hear from. In the eastern district no regular Republican Repub-lican nomination was made. Fames, Republican, has 4,952; Jeueks, Re publican, 1,977 ; Davis, Republican, 1,005; Van Wyck, Democrat, 1,402; Beujamin Muuifi rd, Temperance, 303 ; scattering, 19. The election passed off very quiet. No disturbance occurred. oc-curred. The total vote cast iu tins city is 5,63S. The Republican majority is estimated at about 1,600 or 1,800. Mort from New York. New York, 8. A hundred and ninety two districts of the state, oubide the city, show a Democratic gain of 4,904. The four wards of this city thus far reported re-ported show a Democratic loss. The 15th ward gives Hoffman, 2,102; Woodford, Wood-ford, 1,834. The Democratic general committee of Brooklyn report that King's county will give 12,000 majority major-ity for Hoffman and Beach. General Slocum is elected to Cotmress in the 3d district, by 8.000, over 'Webster. Later from New Jersey. New Jersey election: In the 4 th district dis-trict Hill, Republican, is probaLly elected. The Nevada election is indefinite, audit is impossible impossi-ble to obtain anything definite tonight. to-night. Virginia City, Reno, Wads-worth, Wads-worth, Treasure City and Sherman town go Republican by a small majority. major-ity. Both parties claim Elko and Hamilton. Private dispatches say eastern Nevada has gone Democr itic. Story county gives about 200 Republican Republi-can majority, showing a large Democratic Demo-cratic gnin. From Chicago. Chicago, 8. The vote throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan was light to-day, and resulted in tho general gen-eral success of the Republicans, but by reduced majorities. In this city there was a good deal of excitement over the Congressional contest between Farwcll, the regular Republican nominee, nom-inee, and Wentworth, independent. The other districts in this State remain politically as heretofore, excepting the Sth which has probably been carried by Honinson, Democrat, the Republican vote being divided between be-tween Mirriam and Minier, Prohibitionist.
