Show Business of the Sampling Works. The following is a statement of the business of Messrs. Howland & Co's Sampling Works for the past week : Salt Lake Cut, March 4, 1871. -Editors Herald : During the past week vre have received re-ceived and sampled 15,339 lbs. of ore from the Zella mine, belonging to Mr. James Keller & Co., which assays from $126.28 to $427.89 per ton in silver, and from the Mountain Tiger lode 7.951 fcs., assaying 135.72 and $213.00. per ton. There is not lead enough in these ores to affeet them for milling purposes, and a large quantity has been taken direct from the mine to the refining works at East Canon. We have also received and sampled some four car loads of Flagstaff ore from Little Cottonwood, with several small lots from Bingham and Tintic. The roads are still in such a bad condition con-dition that only small quantities are brought in at present. We have also been receiving a lot of bullion from McDonald & Whitney's, formerly Woodhull Bro's, furnace, which assays some $S7 4S silver to the ton. Yours truly, S. W. Howland & Co., per L. B.
