Mo. t'Ol N'TEK CIIALLENUK ItY .loll.N 1 1 1 UK -MX. 1 am tillable to see anything extraordinary extraor-dinary in the above propositions by Mr. Kdmund W. 'aid. Any person acquainted with the merest rudiments of the pistol could certainly execute any or all of the proposed feats without with-out the slightest difficulty. "Owing" to my entertaining these opinions, ''without solicitations from friends, and unbiased by unworthy motives," 1 am induced to make the following propositions : L I will suspend two dollars by a ring from a second per-on's noe, so as to bring the coins within three-lburths of an inch from his face, and, with a double-barreled shot gun, at a distance of thirty leet, will blow dollars, nose aud man at least thirty feet further, lour times out of five. I will add, in explanation, that San Diego contains a rather intelligent community. I can find, at present, no one here willing to have his nose blown in this manner : but I have no manner of doubt I could obtain such a pcr.-on from St. Louis, by Adams iV" C'o.'s Express, in due season. '2. I will hit a dollar or anything else that has been tossed in tne air (of the same size), on a wheel, on a pole, or axle-tree, or on the ground, every time out of five. At the word, 1 will placo rive balls on the blade of a pi'n-luiil'o, and split thein all. 4. I will hit three men out of five, sprung from ob.-eure parentage, and stand within ten feet r.f a steel trap (properly) set while shootiiiL' 1 0. I will break at the word, a whole box of common clay pipes, with a single brick thrown at a distance of thirty feet. 6. 1 engage to prove nt a fair trial that no pistol shot, or and other person, per-son, can be produced who will throw more apples at a man's head than 1 can. Moreover, I can produce in this town mure than sixty persons willing and re.)dy to hold an apple 011 their heads fir me, provi led they are allowed allow-ed to eat the apple subsequently. 7. I will wager, la-tly, that no person per-son in the L nited States can tie produced pro-duced who. with a d "u' e-l.arreled -hot gun, vhilo tlirowrtig a back-handed summer-ault. can lilt olleiier a dnl lar and a b .til' in the perimeter el' a revolving wheel, in rat'kl motion, than Itin. i Any uiie i;e-'rine to take up inv j propeiiieiis.
