The death of t Charles Young, engineer of the loco-. loco-. motive "Bloomingdale," which occur- ed at the time of the collision between , the freight trains on the Michigan I Central railroad, near Three Oaks, on i Friday the 23d ult., was a terrible affair. af-fair. At the moment of the collision he jumped from the engine, and as , soon as he struck the ground a car , filled with corn fell on him and covered him completely up, with the exception of his head and shoulders. Being thus firmly wedged in under the wreck, he was unable to extricate himself, and when the bar burned his head and neck were completely consumed. On Saturday morning, after the corn had been shoveled from Jho track, the balance bal-ance of his body was found fully preserved. |
