Luiumunicauoos were received from the govLTLor announcing his disapproval disap-proval of "an act concerning the property prop-erty right3 of married persons," also his approval of "an act in relation to district and precinct pounds," and also the nomination by hirn of certain persons per-sons for Territorial ofiices, and notaries public. The provident of the council referred the subject of the election of officers to the committee on elections, with councilors JeniiiCL-s and J. N. Smith added thereto; and the house was rc-j rc-j queued to appoint a like committee to : act in conjunction with them on the subject. j Councilor Jennings, from the select 1 committee to whom was referred (II. F. 1:0.) "an act authorizing and requiring re-quiring the auditor of public accounts to procure a Territorial seal, also a seal for the auditor of public accounts," reported the same back with title amended, when it, passed and was sent to the hou-e ior concurrence in the amendments. Councilors Jennings aud Smith were appointed, on the part of tho council, a committee commit-tee of conference on the latter." Councilor Thatcher, of tho committee commit-tee auDointcd to csuminc and com- j pare the auditor's books with the Territorial Ter-ritorial treasurer's, reported that they found the books and accounts satisfac tory; and in connection with this report; re-port; recommended that the treasurer bo authorized and instructed to procure a seal wherewith to cancel redeemed auditor's warrants. A petition was received and read, asking the appointment of A. D. Hcaton, of Bingham canon, to the office of-fice of notary public, llefcrrcd to the committee on elections. A communication from the house announced the passage of (U. F. 11,) "an act to provide rules for the working work-ing and development, of mines," with sundry amendments, which wero read and concurred in, and the bill passed as amended. (II. F. 32. ) "An act to amend an act incorporating Kaysvillc city" was concurred in. (II. F. 24,) "An act iu relation to auditing accounts" was concurred in. (U. F. 20.) "An act further defining defin-ing tho duties of county and school district collectors," passed. A resolution appropriating money to defray certain expenses of the sergcant-at sergcant-at arms passed, and was sent to the house for concurrence. (II. F. 10.) The committee on elections reported tho number and kind of officers to be elected by the legislative assembly. The report was referred back to the committee com-mittee for further consideration. Communications were received from the governor announcing his approval of i he following measures: "An act authorizing the Utah Southern South-ern railroad company toclose the State road at the point of the mountaiu;"j "An act requiring the building of county jails and de lining the duties of tho jailors;" and "An act further defining de-fining tho duties of tho superintendent of the Wanship and Salt Lako Wagon road. Mr. Taylor presented tho claim of Drs. F. Anderson, 11. J. Pilchards Pilch-ards and J. M. B -ncdict, for the sum of fifteen dollars, lor a written opinion of the condition of the rooms proposed for tbe meeting of tho legislature at tho M. JO. church; referred to the committee on claims. The committee on counties reported adversely to forming a new county out of part of Kane and Iron counties. Mr. Rich, of the committee on c!aims,to whom was referred the report of the Territorial road commissioner, recommended that the sum of $o00 be inserted in the Territorial appropriation appropria-tion bill for services rendered by the commissioner. He also recommended that the office of road commissioner be repealed; and the committee on roads, eta, were instructed to bring in a bill for that purpose.
